Dean P. Baquet (born in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American journalist.
As of March 5, 2007, he was on the masthead of The New York Times as an assistant managing editor and Washington bureau chief. From 1995 to 2000, he was national editor of The New York Times.
He is on the board of directors of the Committee to Protect Journalists.
